Our Mission

Bama Bully Rescue, Inc. (BBR) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating pit bull breed ambassadors within the state of Alabama. To this end, we work with animal shelters to rescue pit bull type dogs who are overlooked for adoption and therefore at risk for euthanasia, and pull them for placement in foster care. We also strive to educate the public about the true nature of bully breed dogs, encouraging responsible ownership by offering training, behavioral, and health care advice in hopes of decreasing the number of bullies that would, without such support, be relinquished by their owners.

Who We Are

Bama Bully Rescue is a volunteer-run organization with members located all across the state of Alabama.  We do not have one central location or a kennel.  The dogs listed on our site live in foster homes.  We work with many different Alabama shelters to try and give these bully breed dogs who face medical challenges or discrimination based on appearance a chance at finding a home, instead of automatically facing the euthanasia table.  BBR is the first Bully specific rescue located in Alabama.

Bama Bully Rescue is a member of the Pit Bull Rescue Alliance (PBRA). PBRA is comprised of individual, independent organizations that are dedicated to Pit Bull rescue, education, and advocacy. These organizations have come together in order to further shared causes through collaboration, networking, and united efforts. As a member of the PBRA, we follow the the PBRA policies, guidelines, and code of ethics.
