Meet Skylar!! This darling girl is so fun to be around! She's around 8-9 months old and is a Mastiff/Pit Bull mix, best we can tell. She's around 60 lbs which is a good, healthy weight for her. She does well with other dogs but NO cats please!

We picked Skylar up in February and she was nothing but one big scab. She was bleeding all over and very sickly, from Demodex (mange) and other underlying skin issues and infections. We placed her into a foster home to start a long healing process.

As you can see, Skylar is looking much better now and feeling so much better! She does well with people and responds very well to light vocal corrections. She has no resource guarding or food aggression when it comes to people, but it bothers her a bit if another dog is too close while she's eating. That is acceptable and easily managed.

Skylar's one minor flaw is that she does tend to guard people from other dogs in some situations. She uses her body sometimes to "block" the other dog...a lot of people would see this and call it "jealousy". It's extremely easy to manage and hasn't caused any major problems.

Skylar is house trained and crate trained and all around a very well mannered dog. She is not highly energetic except for random bursts of energy. She's typically laid back and loves to be next to you on the couch!! She should do well in almost any type of home as she does well with dogs and children and just loves to be around her people.

Skylar is spayed, up to date on her shots, and heartworm negative.
