Porter

My daughter has a rare disease and I wanted to get her a foo foo dog because she had to start home schooling this year and a dog to keep her company and keep her spirits up.  You know something small and gentle?

Porter is her idea of a foo foo dog.  You could not ask for a more gentle dog when she is sick, he will not leave her side. He saved us, that is for sure-I really did not know what our home was missing until Porter came to live with us.  He will not let my daughter get down, no way, always clowning around with her.  He is so smart and never had one second he felt like a stranger in our house.  He is not crate kept, he stays basically on the couch-my bed-Karmans bed, when we are gone.  He does not chew things up-I know this is rare.   His previous owners kept him in a crate and he chewed on hot spots on his legs.  The spots are gone and Porter is happier.  I never ever dreamed of having a pitt bull, but could not imagine life without him.  I have never loved a dog so much.  We have a barn with quarter horses  and he is fine with them and our cat she is kept inside too.

Of course at Pet Smart when we walk in the door, uneducated people are snatching their dogs and kids and glaring, but one slurp from Porter they are friends for life.  The other day my 3 year old grand son was playing in the front yard, of course Porter was with him.  He was picking up freash cut grass and throwing it up in the air and running thru it.  Then Porter would get a mouth full and throw it up and they would run thru it.  What a blessing!  Who would ever have thought a single Mom with a disabled child could not only handle a 75lb pitt bull and love every single second of it?
