Laurell and I had been looking
for a pup to join our family for a few months before we saw the ad for
Maggie and Motley's puppies. It was the first time we had heard of Bama
Bully Rescue. After visiting the BBR website and viewing the photos of
the puppies, we were very excited to meet the dogs. The website was
very educational, and it really helped us learn more about Bully
breeds. We also appreciated seeing the pictures of prior litters and
other dogs that had already been adopted. These details let us know
that BBR was a serious, stand-up operation.
After contacting BBR and
expressing our interest in
adopting a puppy, we were really impressed with how helpful and
available they were to answer all of our questions. Jessica Hudson was
especially helpful; she responded to all of our emails by the end of the
day and posted as many
puppy pictures as she possibly could in order to keep us updated.
Once the initial application review was approved, we made the trek to
Mobile to meet the pups! Jake bonded with Buju (then T-Bone)
immediately. The next step was the home check, which is another aspect
of BBR that shows how professional they are, and how much they really do
care about these animals. Everyone we interacted with during the
adoption process was extremely nice and full of helpful information.
Once we were approved for adopting Buju, Jessica was able to make the
drive to Auburn with a few of the pups in order for us to welcome Buju
to our family.
Jessica Hudson gave us a ton of information on delicious doggy treats,
positive dog training and
good dog trainers who are close by us. We started training Buju
immediately. He loved learning sit, down, stay, shake. He's also learned
loose leash walking and is learning to distinguish his toys. Buju is now
8 1/2 months old and a
big teddy bear. Although. he now weighs almost 100lbs, he is not
at all aware of his size. He loves the water, especially if he's able
to blow bubbles in it, and running around with other dogs. He really
enjoys playing all types of other dogs both big and small. BBR made the
adoption process flow very smoothly, and we are very glad that we chose
to adopt from Bama Bully Rescue.
