Meet Little Orphan
Annie:
Annie hasn't had a great start to life at all. She was witnessed being beaten
for getting into someone's garbage and eventually found herself in the care of
an animal welfare rescuer. Since then, she has been boarding in a kennel as a
foster home was not available.
Annie is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs about 45 lbs. She's has a
sleek black coat and a wash & wear kinda girl. She has expressive eyes but as
most black dogs are, she's frequently overlooked. We think she's stunning.
Annie has been formally evaluated and she has no issues with people handling her
food or being handled. She would thrive in a home where someone could spend a
lot of time with her and work on motivating training. She is closely bonded to
her caregivers and will bond like glue in a new home. She is a bit detached
with new people.
Annie has proven to be housetrained, she never soils her kennel. She loves to
ride in a car and does so politely. She's not entirely familiar with crating
regularly but settles easily once placed in a crate.
She enjoys playing with particular dogs, getting along with males mostly who
share her play style. Her buddy at the kennel is a large male shepherd mix.
She has not gotten along with some other resident females but has been very
appropriate when she's taken out to adoption days among other dogs.
Annie seems to be a mid-energy level pitty and would just as soon lounge on the
sofa as she would head out for a run.
We do not know how she would be with cats and would prefer that she go to a home
with older children, beyond the toddler stage simply because we are unsure of
her past experiences.
Annie deserves a home which is committed to helping her learn the joys of being
a house pet, something she's not been lucky enough to experience.
Annie was heartworm positive when found but has been treated and is heartworm
free and on preventative. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been
spayed.
